Interfaith’s neighborhood outreach offices provide direct support to thousands of older adults (age 60+) living in Milwaukee County. By providing practical assistance and timely information, we help older adults remain in their own homes and neighborhoods.
Eleven neighborhood outreach offices located throughout the county provide valuable one-on-one services to older adults to ensure their safety, independence, and a connection to the community. Each office serves older adults within their specific neighborhood boundaries with help from generous volunteers living nearby.
In 2012, Interfaith provided 81,492 services to older adults – including transportation for medical appointments and grocery shopping; friendly in-home visits; help with minor home repairs and outdoor chores and more. Our staff is up to date on all resources available in Milwaukee County for older adults and can provide expert advice on various options.
Without these services, many would suffer from complications of being isolated without sufficient access to food, medical care and friendship, which could result in premature placement in a senior living community. Sponsored by nearly 200 Milwaukee County congregations, we provide that ever-necessary helping hand to our aging neighbors.
