MILWAUKEE (July 28, 2016) —La Casa de Esperanza is hosting Interfaith Older Adult Program’s Lifetime Art Competition, a traveling exhibition, and will have a special “The Artist Behind the Art” event on Friday, July 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. This event is open to the public, and all are invited to see the artwork, and learn more about the artists and their art directly from them.

More than 50 Wisconsin artists entered the juried competition from various counties, including Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Washington and Racine counties. Judges from the art community and local colleges choose 25 winners based on presentation, aesthetic appeal, skill level, and originality.

The art will be available to view from July 15-29 during Café Esperanza’s lunch time. During this special July 29 artist talk back, Café Esperanza will also be open to the public and offering a fish fry during that time.

This competition is sponsored by the Helen Daniels Bader Fund, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Mary L. Nohl Fund, and the Evan and Marion Helfaer Foundation.
