Each year at our Pearls of Wisdom event, we honor outstanding people in the Milwaukee area who are making priceless contributions to older adults through volunteerism and advocacy. This year’s award recipients are listed below.
Phyllis Mensh Brostoff & Jonathan Brostoff
Winners of the Generational Gem Award
Phyllis Brostoff, CEO of Stowell Associates Inc., and her son, State Rep. Jonathan Brostoff, have been active in social work, community advocacy and volunteerism for decades.
This award honors persons of different generations who have inspired each other, and as a result, have created new and better ways of providing service to others.
Winner of the Making the World More Beautiful Award
Anne, 89, has been an active Interfaith volunteer in different roles for more than 15 years. Nominees in this category are adults 50 and better who willingly share gifts and talents to enrich the lives of others.
Winner of the Living Life to the Fullest Award
Rose, 72, has been an Interfaith volunteer for more than 30 years at our Southwest Neighborhood Outreach office.
Nominees in this category are adults 50 and better who are living life to the fullest, and having a positive impact on the community and others.
Nucor Cold Finish Wisconsin
Recipient of the Business Community Impact Award
Nucor Cold Finish Wisconsin is the recipient of the Business Community Impact Award. This award recognizes a local business for its dedication and commitment to volunteering with Interfaith. Nucor has been a community business partner with the South Shore Regional Neighborhood Outreach office for many years.
Thomas Nielsen & Geraldine Sykes
Recipients of the Exceptional Caregiver Award
Thomas and Geraldine were selected from Interfaith’s Family Caregiver Support Network’s clients for their dedication, wisdom, and positive approaches to their individual caregiving challenges and lifestyles.
