Volunteer for Veterans

Give Back to Those Who Gave

Every veteran deserves honor and respect. Many of them have risked their lives for our freedom, and what better way to show your appreciation than by serving a veteran who is now in need. The Volunteers for Veterans Program supports the efforts of nonprofit organizations in Milwaukee County that provide supportive services to veterans and their families.

The Volunteers for Veterans Program offers flexible volunteer opportunities on a daily, weekly, monthly or weekend basis. You decide how you want to serve a veteran:

  • Deliver a box of groceries
  • Escort patients at the VA
  • Provide transportation to an appointment or engagement
  • Serve meals at a homeless shelter or sort clothing donations
  • And much more

Training is provided by our volunteers and partnering organizations’ staff members, which include veterans and professional clinical staff. Once training is completed, members choose how they want to help. Quarterly workshops are provided to help members learn more. Volunteers must complete a background check, be in good general health, be able to complete assigned duties and have reliable transportation.

Give back to those who’ve sacrificed so much.

You’ll be providing important services to veterans and their families. Once you successfully finish the training curriculum and are approved by program staff, you’ll be ready to begin your journey as a Volunteer for Veterans. To get started, click here to complete an application, or, for more information, call 414-220-8655 or email veterans@interfaithmilw.org.
