Volunteers are the engine that makes Interfaith run and prosper. We count on 2,500 volunteers, starting at age 14 and up, to make an incredible difference in the lives of thousands of seniors in the Milwaukee area. Whatever your interests, talents, skill or availability may be, you can find a volunteer opportunity that’s right for you.

In your neighborhood

Provide transportation, help with seasonal yard work, shovel snow, pay a friendly visit to a senior who lives alone, and more.

Participation Age: 14 and up

At Senior Centers

Plan recreational opportunities, lead an activity group or teach a class, promote or run a special event, or assist staff with day-to-day work.

Participation Age: 14 and up

At Senior Dining Sites

Serve meals, set up, and clean up.

At any Interfaith office

Help us with administrative tasks related to our regular agency operations.

From your own home

Make daily phone calls to isolated seniors to verify their safety and well-being.

Participation Age: 55 and up

In local libraries, community centers, congregations, and more

Become a Senior Ambassador and meet with older adults to educate them on the best available services and resources in their area.

Participation Age: 55 and up

In MPS classrooms, grades K-5-3rd

Tutor MPS students one-on-one or in small groups for 90 minutes per week, helping them with literacy skills.

Participation Age: 55 and up

Our 55+ volunteer opportunities are part of Senior Corps, a federal program supported by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nation.
